The main goal of the current contribution is to provide an overview of the dynamics of inclusion of students belonging to the Marco Polo and Turandot programs into the Italian university system. The first section of this work is dedicated to a brief statistical analysis of the presence of Chinese international students in Italy, as well as on their rate of academic success. Particular attention will be attributed to the development of the presence of Marco Polo and Turandot students. After that, considerations will be providedon the most relevant topics related to the attractiveness of the Italian university system, both in general terms and in terms of language teaching/learning processes. The final part is about the state of art on the research on Marco Polo and Turandot students, especially in relation to the “Manifesto programmatico per l’insegnamento della lingua italiana agli studenti internazionali”, which is also about this category of learners. Possible future perspectives on the improvement of the processes of academic integration and socialization of Marco Polo and Turandot students will be explained in the conclusions.

Possible future perspectives on the improvement of the processes of academic integration and socialization of Marco Polo and Turandot students will be explained in the conclusions.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
