This paper presents preliminary results about both the definition of the corpus and the design of the multilingual electronic archive I.F.J. Open Access Database. The database will collect information on Italian films distributed in Japan from silent cinema to the present day, within the wither project Italian Films in Japan and Japanese Films in Italy, which is carried out in partnership with Waseda University (Tōkyō). The main reference source for the extraction of the data will be the Japanese film's magazine, Kinema Junpō (キネマ旬報), published since 1919. Aim of this specific section of the project is to collect in an open access archive the information necessary for those interested in the study of the diffusion and reception of Italian cinema in Japan, with particular attention to the aspects of the reception of a film, to the process of fruition of Italian films in the Japanese context, and to the attribution of Japanese titles to Italian films as an observatory of both the adopted literal and non-literal translation strategies and the diffusion of Italian language in Japan. In the future, the structure of the database, that will be managed by the Center of Excellence for Research, may allow to duplicate it in order to provide the same set of information about Japanese movies distributed in Italy.

Abstract
In the future, the structure of the database, that will be managed by the Center of Excellence for Research, may allow to duplicate it in order to provide the same set of information about Japanese movies distributed in Italy.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
