Os Arabismos próprios da língua portuguesa em época contemporânea: análise do uso comunicativo dos itens lexicais através das ocorrências autênticas em corpora eletrónicos

Arabisms represent an important part of the Portuguese-speaking historical heritage, since many lexicalitems entered in the 8th century - a period that attests the beginning of the double process of Islamizationand Arabization of the Iberian Peninsula - to denote all the cultural and social innovations introduced bynew dominators. Based on the lexicographic survey carried out in 2011, the present study aims to verifywhich peculiar arabisms of the Portuguese language are still used in contemporary communicative practicesthrough both qualitative and quantitative analysis of the occurrences of each lemma in the texts of the electroniccorpus Now (News on the Web).
