In this paper, a corpus of 245 Japanese titles of Italian movies, here considered as lingua-cultural texts, is analyzed as a possible ground to retrieve indirect information both on pragmatic models of movie title translation employed by Japanese distribution agencies, and general information about the diffusion and reception of Italian language and culture in Japan. Theoretical parameters to frame the discussion about title, movie title and title translation are indicated at the beginning of the work.
