Mother Dominic Ramacciotti was an educator whose teachings took place in the first half of the last century. Her story is rooted in her own life story, and stand as an emblematic and at the same time singular narrative within the renewal movement of the so-called New Education. The mission of social democratization, the concept of education as responsibility and autonomy through active participation, the enhancement of motivation, the importance of socialization, the training of manual work were the continuous bass of Ramacciotti’s teachings. Her apostolate also stands out first of all for her attention to the issues of linguistic education: she was indeed well aware of its potential for full individual and social fulfillment, also due to her personal experience. Secondly for the constant and passionate commitment to redeem girls who came from a subordinate destiny, girls that were entrusted to the City of Girls which she founded, organized and governed.
