Abstract
The caricatures by Gian Lorenzo Bernini are that class of works by the artist for which the difference between the importance that con- temporaries attached to them and the great uncertainty of our present knowledge is most considerable. Only three sheets are unani- mously acknowledged as autograph works, and their scarceness makes it far from easy to propose new numbers for this catalogue. The article discusses a drawing that has appeared several times on the market, though has never been published in a scientific journal, which certainly appears to be a creation of Bernini, and could even be by his own hand.File in questo prodotto:
