The paper aims to illustrate the conditions of learning and teaching of Italian in Africa with particular attention to the use of technologies. The results presented are based on a qualitative-quantitative survey that involved 261 teachers and 1,176 students from 15 African countries located in the five geographical areas of the continent. In light of the results of the research, it can be observed that although the use of ‘digital’ technological devices is still limited in many areas of Africa, ‘traditional’ audiovisual tools are used with positive results. However, a serious commitment to specific training of teachers is essential on topics such as the creation of online teaching materials and the setting up of learning environments.

Abstract
The paper aims to illustrate the conditions of learning and teaching of Italian in Africa with particular attention to the use of technologies. The results presented are based on a qualitative-quantitative survey that involved 261 teachers and 1,176 students from 15 African countries located in the five geographical areas of the continent. In light of the results of the research, it can be observed that although the use of ‘digital’ technological devices is still limited in many areas of Africa, ‘traditional’ audiovisual tools are used with positive results. However, a serious commitment to specific training of teachers is essential on topics such as the creation of online teaching materials and the setting up of learning environments.| File | Dimensione | Formato | |
