This volume is a collection of studies on the issue of authorship in translation. Leading translation scholars and professional translators discuss the theoretical implications and applicability of the author-translator paradigm. The relationship between translators and authors is addressed in its various manifestations, from the author-translator collaboration to self-translation, to authorial practices of translating. While offering multiple perspectives, in terms of both theoretical approaches and cultural backgrounds, the book offers an important and original contribution to the current debate. The variety of languages and dialects represented (languages from English to French, Spanish to German, Arabic to Chinese and even Quechua; dialects from Roman to Taiwanese) combined with the vastly different cultural contexts to animate a rich and lively discussion. The problems confronted and the translational proposals emerged highlight a variety of mutually enriching and enlightening approaches. The themes can be referred to three principal areas represented in the three parts which make up this volume, where different theoretical aspects and actual translating experiences are faced and intertwined.

Abstract
The themes can be referred to three principal areas represented in the three parts which make up this volume, where different theoretical aspects and actual translating experiences are faced and intertwined.File | Dimensione | Formato | |
