CONFINI E PONTI: COVID-19 E ASSOCIAZIONISMO A ROMA EST

The aim of this contribution is to explore the impact of the virus (non-human agent) and of the (human) measures taken for its containment on bordering processes at the urban scale, tracking and analyzing the transformations of non-profit associations in the eastern quadrant of the city of Rome. e closures had different impacts on residents depending on their working and economic conditions, and the forced closure of social, cultural and sporting activities led to the risk of an exacerbation of differences and the initiation of a process of growing social exclusion. However, the response strategies implemented by the local associations have not only guaranteed the preservation but also the strengthening of the bridges between the different associative bodies of the area.

Obiettivo del contributo è esplorare l’impatto del virus (agente non umano) e delle misure (umane) prese per il suo contenimento sui processi di bordering a scala urbana, attraverso l’analisi delle trasformazioni dell’associazionismo nel quadrante est della città di Roma. Le chiusure hanno inciso diversamente sui residenti a seconda della loro condizione lavorativa ed economica, e la chiusura forzata delle attività sociali, culturali e sportive ha determinato il rischio di un inasprimento delle differenze e l’avvio di un processo di crescente esclusione sociale. Tuttavia, le strategie di risposta messe in atto dalle associazioni del territorio hanno garantito non solo il mantenimento ma anche il rafforzamento dei ponti tra le diverse realtà costitutive del tessuto locale.
