Milano, Parigi, la verità. Cento anni di Giuseppe Rovani

The second chapter of the XXth book of Cento anni by Giuseppe Rovani deals with the relationship between Milan, the main city of the novel, and Paris, intended as capital of the world. The article, on the one hand, punctually analyzes the articulated argument of the author to understand why, in a novel entirely devoted to the narration of the birth and development of Italian modernity, the author ends its pages with an apparent excursus on Paris. And, on the other hand, it offers an interpretation of the chapter that links its content with what has been widely faced along the novel.

Il secondo capitolo del libro XX dei Cento anni di Giuseppe Rovani, affronta il rapporto tra Milano, città protagonista del romanzo e Parigi, intesa come capitale del mondo. L’articolo, da una parte, analizza puntualmente l’articolata argomentazione dell’autore per comprendere perché, in un testo dedicato per intero alla narrazione della nascita e dello sviluppo della modernità italiana, il testo finisca le sue pagine con un apparente excursus su Parigi. E, dall’altra, offre un’interpretazione del capitolo che ne ricolleghi il contenuto con quanto è stato ampiamente raccontato lungo il romanzo.
