This paper presents the discovery of a stratigraphic sequence dating to Middle Bronze Age that was found during the 2020 excavation within the Fortress of Montalcino (Siena). The open area excavation brought to light a series of houses, fortifications, a church, and a cemetery, dating between the 11th and the 14th centuries CE. A probable basement structures, located between the thirteen hundred western wall of the quarterdeck and its ditch, yielded fragmentary sherds in impasto that can be dated to the Middle Bronze Age.
