Many international protection seekers fail to achieve levels of linguistic autonomy for inclusion in the host community. The research performs a review of the effectiveness of Italian L2 courses focusing on the socio- affective, psychological and identity aspects of the users. The results are presented along with proposed methodological guidelines for teacher training.
